Marouane Fellaini-Bakkioui.. A journey begins

At age 21, this boy already has had 6 clubs. Most prominent at his club Standard de Liege in Belgium. He is part of the exceptional talents that have come from there in the past couple of years like Tom de Mul,Vertonghen,vanden Borre,dembele and from a place that has brough out players like the Mpenzas,Kompany and many more..


For Everton Fc this season, he has notched a cool 8 goals in all competitions and has been a popular figure amongst the bkue merseysiders. He became an instand favourite for answering the call by many Evertonians at season start to become a big signing and a boost to their squad when many were turning their backs. He also never shies away from challanges.Holding the current 2008-2009 season record for the most fouls committed by a player and most yellow cards. However, he understands that tackling is not one of his strengths and has maturely aplogized to his teamates publicly and vowed to correct his indiscipline.At 1.94m, he is joint fourth for tallest player in the premier league. A box to box player he is an asset with his high stamina and more importantly for using his height for an advantage on corners especially for a team like Everton reknowned for players deadly from set pieces and heading like Cahill and Lescott and master deliverer Arteta.

For Belgium this boy has a cool 15 caps under his name at such a young age,scoring twice and being part of a Belgian Olympic team in 2008 that went further than expected and showed their character. He was reknowned for his weird hairdo and did get sent off there but showed enough quality for the world to take notice. For Liege he has been a vital player for a few seasons before that and was very much 1 of those you could see one day running the club captaincy but alas it was not to be. It is important to note that he was initially allowed to play for Morrocco also but chose Belgium as he was born there. Kudos to that.
